Colectivo Cardenales originated as Cardenales Birding Club, a not-for-profit organization founded in Mérida in 2019 as a sibling chapter of the Feminist Bird Club. All tours provide direct monetary support for Colectivo Cardenales's community programming, which includes children's birding in communities throughout the Yucatán Peninsula and introduction-to-birding outings for birders of all ages.
